Sometimes words can’t describe what Sandra Backlund can do with a knit.  We are constantly amazed by her innovative and modern approach to a medium that is otherwise resigned to the ‘more mature’ generation.  Each piece in the collection is improvised; rather than being based on patterns Sandra designs as she knits.  What we most enjoy is that despite her success since the label’s inception in 2004 (note: a collaboration with Louis Vuitton for Fall 2007/08), there is still that bespoke stamp to each piece.

Sandra Backlund lives and works in Stockholm where she makes every piece of her collection by hand. Her work is very personal for her, when she starts a piece she is not quite sure where she is going to end up, her knitting needles tell her what to do.
